Philip J. Shdeed, of Holbrook, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the age of 85. Born in Boston, Philip graduated from Boston schools and then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his nation proudly. For many years, Philip worked as the Assistant Superintendent at the Deer Island Treatment Plant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. An active member of the community, he was a long standing member and past Commander of the American Legion Dalton Post #137 in Holbrook, member of Randolph VFW and the Amvets Post #51. Phil and his late wife Lillian were truly a special couple, who had five of their own children and countless foster children that they cared for throughout the years. Philip will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Philip was the husband of the late Lillian Lil (Andronico) Shdeed. Loving father of Rosann Goodrich of VA, Judith Waelbrock of CA, John Shdeed of Marshfield, Patricia Hunt of Abington and Carol Costello of Plymouth. Devoted brother of George Shdeed of Wilmington. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Reposed at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook, until 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook.
