Obituary Condolences

Mrs. Janet C. (Black) Hannibal of Beverly, beloved wife of 63 years to the late Russell E. Hannibal, died Sunday at the Den-Mar Nursing Center in Rockport, she was 89. Born and raised in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (MacFarland) Black. As a homemaker, she was devoted to raising her family. An avid golf player, she also enjoyed sewing, crochet and gardening and was a member of the Red Men Association. Janet loved baking and cake decorating, and was known to always have a cake on her table. Above all she mostly enjoyed time spent with her family, grandchildren and her many great grandchildren. She is survived by her five children: Russell Rusty Hannibal, Jr. and his wife Gail of Honey Creek, IA; Gerald Jerry Hannibal and his wife Janet of Ipswich, Janet Cathy Muise-Spell of Amesbury, Gary Hannibal of Beverly and Beth Oliver and her husband Craig of Gloucester. She is further survived by her sister, Lola Rooney, her twenty-two grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Russell, she was predeceased by her sisters Ramona and Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly on Monday, March 24th at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Burial will be in North Beverly Cemetery.
