Vena T. Bond

Vena T. (Tommie) Bond, May 12, 2013, surrounded by her family on Mother's Day. Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert (Bob) Bond. Mother of Edward Bond (Kim) of Lexington, Andrea Bond (Charles Skrief) of St. Paul, MN, Robert Bond (Anne Craig) of Bolton, MA, Patricia Bond (Terry Beech) of Capitola, CA, Christopher Bond of Sacramento, CA, and Cynthia Bond (John Bardes) of Lexington. Grandmother of Peter, Katherine, Julia, Robert, Thompson, Tristan, Stephanie, Natalie, Leah, John Henry, Cary, and Kerna. Survived by sisters Rita Fitzgerald and Imelda Downey (James). Predeceased by brother Frank Thompson (Teresa). Resident of Lexington since 1951. From her roots in Michigan, Vena traveled the world, first as a flight attendant for TWA in the early years of commercial air travel and later with her husband, family, and friends to more than 60 countries. Skilled at sewing, knitting, metalworking and photography, she focused her creative efforts on pottery. An active member of the Ceramics Guild of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society since 1980, Vena was known for pottery both artful and practical. Private Mass.
