Coyne, Catherine, formally of Lexington, Mass passed away on January 17th in Augusta, Maine. Kay was born on April 2nd, 1933 in Lowell, Mass. She was the daughter of the late Charles McCarthy and the late Kathleen (Mullally) McCarthy. Sister of the late Margaret McCarthy Mahoney. She was the wife of the late John J. Coyne (Jack) Kay was a 1950 graduate of Keith Hall in Lowell and a 1953 graduate St. Josephs Nursing School in Lowell. Kay worked as a nurse in various hospitals in Massachusetts, Miami, Florida and Santa Monica California. She last worked at the East Village Nursing Home in Lexington. Kay had been living in Augusta, Maine to be near her niece, Kathleen Mahoney and her children Andrew Mahaleris, Nina Mahaleris and Theo Mahaleris who survive her. Kay was happy to be near her niece but thought Maine was very cold. Kay is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Theresa Leslie and her husband Bob, Nancy ONeil and Elizabeth Kessler and her husband John and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Saturday January 25 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4pm to 6pm. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
