Charles S. Keevil, Jr. LINCOLN Charles S. Keevil, Jr. born in Trenton, NJ, in 1925, died in peace on the 8th of April, 2014, at his home in Lincoln. He had been a dedicated community internist and cardiologist for over 50 years, continuing to practice nearly full-time past his 87th birthday. Dr. Keevil was drafted into the army during his freshman year at Bucknell University, and served as a medical lab technician in the Philippines. He graduated from Amherst College in 1948, and went on to earn a Masters in biology here. The next year saw him at the University of Wisconsin working toward a Doctorate in biochemistry, but the lure of medical school became too strong. Four years later, in 1955, he graduated from Harvard Medical School. He did post-graduate work at the Mass General Hospital, and in 1959 joined Dr. Gordon Winchell in medical practice in Lincoln. In 1950, Dr. Keevil married Hannah Snider, and together they created a family of ten children, including two who were adopted, and one foster son. Dr. Keevils commitment to and pleasure in his family paralleled his involvement in his medical practice, with some viola and tennis playing, mountain climbing, and running included as well. He also spent a number of summer vacations working medical clinics in Appalachia, sometimes with his whole family accompanying him there. A memorial service will be held for Dr. Keevil on May 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the First Parish Church in Lincoln. | Read Obituary
