Mable Beasley

Mable Alice (Young) Beasley, 69, of Pine Ridge Drive, died Friday, March 9, 2012, at at the Morningside House of Laurel, Laurel, Maryland. Her husband, John W. Beasley Jr., died in July 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon B. Taitt and her husband, Prince Tyrell Taitt of Laurel, MD; five stepsons, Andre Massenburg, John W. Massenburg, Ivan Massenburg and Pierre Massenburg all of Raleigh, NC, Don Massenburg of Greensborough, NC; a stepdaughter, Delwyn King of Raleigh, NC; three brothers, Mottie Fowler of Rockingham, NC, William A. Tony Fowler of , FL and Peter Young of New York, NY. She also leaves two grandchildren, Asha Taitt and Zuri Taitt. Mrs. Beasley was born in Wake Forest, NC, February 19, 1943, a daughter of the late Hubert and Novella (Davis) Young and resided in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Ayer 43 years ago. She was educated at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC and later received her masters degree in education at , Cambridge, Massachusetts. For over 30 years Mrs. Beasley worked as a physical education and at Littleton High School, Littleton, Massachusetts, retiring in 2001. She was an active member of the New Patriot Christian Congregation and a former member of the Board of Trustees at Deaconess Nashoba Hospital in Ayer. She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the New Hope Community Church, 139 Sandy Pond Road, Ayer. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ayer.
