Ralph C. Burrill

Ralph C. Burrill, 94, formerly of Ayer and Littleton, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Apple Valley Center, Ayer His wife of 65 years, Blanche (Jurga) Burrill, died in 2006. Mr. Burrill was born in Ayer, September 6, 1918, a son of Frederick and Amelia (Schaejbe) Burrill and was a longtime resident of Ayer. He was a graduate of Ayer High School and was a member of the Caleb Butler Lodge of Masons. He enjoyed fishing. playing golf and very much enjoyed spending time with his family. During WW II he served his country in the United States Army and had been stationed in Italy, Africa and England. For many years he worked as a brakeman and conductor at the B & M Railroad, retiring in 1983. He leaves his daughter and son in law, Nancy C. and William Farnsworth of Littleton; two grandchildren, Cynthia Mignini and her husband Mark, Cathleen Wimsatt and her husband, John. He also leaves six great grandchildren, Brett Wimsatt, Alexander Wimsatt, Evan Wimsatt, Megan Wimsatt, Ryan Mignini and Brandon Mignini. Mr. Burrill was the brother of the late Frederick Burrill, Francis Burrill, Robert Burrill, Vernard Burrill, Roscoe Burrill, Floyd Burrill and Edna Hyde. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, March 20th at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton. Mr. Burrills family will receive family and friends on Wednesday from 9 am until the time of the service. His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Apple Valley Center for the excellent care provided to Ralph during his stay there.
