Aksenia P. Nesmith Obituary
Aksenia P. Nesmith of Westford, died March 10th, 2014 at her home at the age of 96. Aksenia, the widow of Norman K. Nesmith, was born in Westford to Wasil and Mary Pupchick. She graduated from Westford Academy in 1935 and the Waltham School of Nursing in 1939. In addition to working as a private duty nurse, Aksenia assisted her husband as a bookkeeper for his business, Broadway Garage. When she and her husband retired, they spent their summers at Lake Sunapee and took several trips, including one traveling cross-country to California in a truck camper. In her younger years, Aksenia participated in the activities of the Westford United Methodist Church, took various craft classes and enjoyed line dancing, water aerobics and picking strawberries and blueberries. In her sixties she learned to play golf. Her spare time was filled with baking special treats, attending the school activities of her grandchildren, crocheting and reading several newspapers every day. She was particularly fond of her morning coffee, sweets and chocolate. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Janet and Silvio Morano of Chelmsford and her son-in-law Thomas Bukowski of Wallingford, CT. She leaves grandchildren Joseph and Annie Morano of Groton, Suzie Morano of Boston, John and Jennifer Bukowski of NH and Paul and Terri Bukowski of CT, Marianne and Bruce Baker of Methuen, Leonard and Robin Morano and Richard Morano all of FL as well as her great grandchildren, David Jopson, Ricky Morano, Jenna and Anna Morano, Madelyn and Benjamin Bukowski and Bailey Bukowski. She leaves also many ieces a nd nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, her sister Anna Newsom, her d aughter Joyce Bukowski and her great grandson Brady Bukowski. Her family would like to thank Brenda, Wanda, Cindy and Penny for their care and kindness these past two months and Merrimack Valley Hospice for its support. Funeral Services w ere held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Westford.
