Judith Buchanan Obituary
Judith Anne Buchanan, 69, of Tanager Road, Attleboro, passed peacefully on February 6, 2013 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of John A. Buchanan. Born Judith Anne Carr in Attleboro on March 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late James and Doris (Evans) Carr. Judith was educated in Attleboro schools and was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1961. In earlier days she worked at the former Attleboro Trust Company, Attleboro Plainville Coal & Oil, and the Mansfield News/Sharon Advocate, prior to becoming a homemaker and resident of Mansfield, where she and John raised their family before moving back to Attleboro in retirement. She was an avid photographer and enjoyed interior decorating and floral arranging. In addition to her husband John, Judith is survived by a son; Jim M. Buchanan of Attleboro, a brother in law; David Buchanan and his wife Jean of Naples, Florida, and a nephew; David and his wife Sue Buchanan of Wyckoff, New Jersey. She was the mother of the late Mark A. Buchanan who passed in 2010. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro where the Buchanan family received friends on Sunday, February 10th from 2 PM - 4PM. A Funeral Service was conducted on Monday, February 11th at 11AM in the funeral home by Rev. Tim Hatch, Pastor of the Waters Church, North Attleboro. Judith was laid to rest in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers and for those wishing to remember Judith in a special way, contributions may be made to: Boston Childrens Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
