Beatrice Baker-Dunn Obituary

Beatrice Baker-Dunn, 95, of Swampscott, Massachusetts and Palm Beach County, Florida, entered into rest on August 9, 2013 at the Atrium Assisted Living facility in Boca Raton, Florida. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Bertha and David Garfield. Graduate of Lynn Classical High School and receipent of the Lucy Allen Medal for drama. Cherished wife of the late Dr. Hyman Baker for 35 years, a well-respected optometrist in the Lynn, Massachusetts area. Beatrice, along with her husband, were very philanthropic, working for various Jewish organizations in the North Shore area. Beloved mother to Nancy (David) Shactman, Judith Baker, Jayne (Kane) Alexander, devoted grandmother to Peter (Lisa) Shactman, Lisa (Chet) Grissom, Brian (Jessica) Shactman, Etty (Joseph) Vignona, Garbriel & Sarah Alexander. Proud great grandmother of Jake and Julia Shactman, Annie, Max, and Bennett Shactman, and Eve Vignona. Funeral was held on August 11, 2013 at the Shirat Hayem Cemetery (Temple Beth El side) Peabody, MA. Donations in her memory can be made to the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of the greater Boston area or to Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation, Inc.
