Obituary Condolences

William M. Hollick (Bill), 68 of Ellenton, FL formerly of Hudson, MA died on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL from injuries sustained in a fall. He was surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Marlboro, MA the oldest son of the late John and Doris (Hubbard) Hollick. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Pauline (Foisy) of Ellenton, FL and two sons both of Hudson, MA Erik and Mark, daughter-in-law Jodi, and two grandchildren Megan and Mason, his brother Robert of Spring Hill, TN and his sister Paula Godin of West Yarmouth, MA. Bill was a member of the Hudson High School Class of 1964. After graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and served in the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged at the rank of Sargent in 1968. Bill joined the Hudson Fire Department in 1969 as a Firefighter and rose through the ranks of Lieutenant, Acting Deputy Chief and then Fire Chief. In 1986 after a successful 17 years of service to the Town of Hudson, he continued his Fire Service career for the next 17 years at the Massachusetts Fire Fighting Academy as Deputy Director and then Director, retiring in 2002. Bill was active with the Elks, VFW, Marine Corps League, and the Red Knights. Bill, known as DJ Wild Willy, had a passion for Country Music and Country Dancing. After retirement, Bill and Pauline enjoyed teaching Country Dance in MA, FL and on cruise ships. After snow-birding for a few years, Bill and Pauline permanently relocated to Colony Cove in Ellenton, FL in 2007 where he was active in many community clubs & activities and enjoyed fostering Bassett Hounds & Dachshunds. Upholding the desire of the deceased, Bills cremated remains will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL at a private family ceremony.
