Ples E. Hunter, Jr., 83, of Hudson, died on March 4, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Jason) Hunter of Hudson. Born in Aberdeen, MS, son of the late Ples and Lou Jeanie Hunter, Ples has been a longtime resident of Hudson and was employed as a draftsman by Raytheon and Data General until his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the U.S.S. Shangrila. He enjoyed bowling and playing softball in his spare time. Besides his wife he leaves his four children, Susan Erickson of Concord, Marjorie Hunter of Hudson, Thomas Hunter of Hudson and David Hunter of Upton. He is also survived by his 10 loving grandchildren and was predeceased by his daughter in 2004, Jennifer Hunter-Yates. Family and friends are encouraged to gather at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com) on Saturday, March 8th at 1:30 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
