Keyes, Walter I.  
Walter I. Keyes, 86, of Duxbury, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Bay Path Healthcare Center in Duxbury. Born in Waltham, June 18, 1928, he was the youngest son of 6 children of the late George I. L. Keyes and Lettie (Morse) Keyes. He was a graduate of Waltham High School, 1946, and Northeastern University, where he earned a BS in Civil Engineering in 1951 and a MSCE in Civil Structural Engineering in 1957. In 1953, Walter became a partner in his brother Fentons firm, Keyes Associates. During those early days, Keyes Assoc. provided many architectural/ engineering services in the Waltham area. At one time Keyes Assoc. had offices in RI, CT and NH. Keyes Assoc. designed many buildings at Northeastern University. He was very active in many Waltham civic organizations. In 1955, Walter and his family moved to Lincoln as residents. The Keyes family also enjoyed a summer home for many years in Brant Rock, where Walter summered as a boy. In 1981, as a year round resident of Brant Rock, Walter was an active member of the Council of Aging in Marshfield and the Brant Rock Village Association. Walter is survived by his daughter, Laura K. Jaynes and husband, Steven of Merrimack, N.H.; 2 sons, Andrew G. Keyes and wife, Doreen of Waltham and Christopher M. Keyes and wife Janet of Norfolk, Va.; nine grandchildren; and his 2nd wife, Virginia (OConnell). Walter was predeceased by a son, Kenneth W. Keyes in 1982 and his first wife, Janet (Turner) in 2011. Calling hours and a memorial service will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Marshfield, Sunday, May 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a time for memory sharing at 3 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brant Rock Village Association, P.O. Box 1, Brant Rock, MA 02020. Kristen M. McLaughlin, 30, recently of Marshfield, formerly of Duxbury, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2015. Beloved daughter of Michael and Patricia McLaughlin of Duxbury. Loving fianc of David Russell of Marshfield. Cherished sister of Michael R. McLaughlin of Boston, and Laurie R. McLaughlin of Duxbury. Beloved granddaughter of Stanley R. and the late Ruth Mitchell of South Boston and the late Ruth L McLaughlin of Kingston. Kristen is also survived by her Aunt Susan Bavis of Hollis, NH, Uncle John Mitchell of Windham, NH, and the late Uncle James Mitchell of Brockton. Kristen also leaves many cousins and friends. Kristen spent most of her childhood in Quincy. She moved to Duxbury in high school and graduated from Duxbury High and UMass Dartmouth. She enjoyed traveling and taking walks with her pups. She was very kind, warm, and loving and will be missed terribly. Sprague, Karen G. - Palmer  
Karen G. (Olson) Sprague, 91, of Palm City, FL, formerly of Palmer and Duxbury, April 20, 2015. Beloved wife of the late E. Russell Sprague and Charles Lanzetta Sr. Loving mother of Charles Lanzetta and his wife Lauriel of Marshfield, Dian Reed and her husband James of Monson, Lynn Kenney of NH, Nancy Chouinard and her husband David of Brimfield and Russell Sprague and his wife Karen of Brimfield; grandmother of Debbie Martineau, Russell Prentiss, Amy Gates, Tracy Ruel, Julie Sprague, Karen Nikki Custenborder, Ryan Sprague, Jessi Sprague, Kenny Ives, Aaron Ives and Phillip Kenney; great-grandmother of Stella, Derek, Ethan, Olivia, Amanda, Emma Lynn and Addie; also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Karen was born and raised in Palmer, MA and graduated from Palmer High School. She moved to Palm City, FL in 1985 and was a summer resident of Duxbury. Karen was a retired Administrative Assistant for Tambrands Inc. She was an avid golfer, card player and bowler; she attended the Masters and the Ryder Cup and was a lifelong Red Sox fan. Karen was a former Board member of the Monson Public Library and was on the Board of the Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer. Karen enjoyed giving back and was a major contributor to the Kane Center in Stuart, FL. A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Village at Duxbury, 290 Kingstown Way, Duxbury, at 11:30 a.m. Memorial gifts in Karens memory may be made to the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, 300 Arnold Palmer Boulevard, Norton, MA 02766 or to Bostons Childrens Hospital.
