Betty J. Harrington of Marshfield, passed away Jan. 4, 2013, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late James P. Harrington, she was the loving mother of Cinderella Harrington of Lynn, Thomas S. Harrington and his wife Sharon of Hingham, Christopher Harrington and his wife Debra of Marshfield and Charles A. Harrington and his wife Cynthia of Dennis; loving grandmother of Sean and Andrew Harrington of Virginia, Bridgette Harrington of Hingham, Christopher Jr., Katherine and Stephen Harrington of Marshfield and Travis, Adeline, Lily and Will Harrington of Dennis; daughter of the late Thomas S. and Marion (Messenger) McCoubrey. Betty was born and raised in Gardener, Maine. She graduated from Gardner High School. Betty attended the Melrose Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brockton for 40 years and South Shore Hospital. Betty was a nurse for the first heart transplant while working at Mass. General Hospital. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Betty loved her family. Visiting hours were held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139, in Marshfield, Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Christines Church, 1295 Main St., Rte. 3A, in Marshfield, at 9 a.m. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, at 11:15.
