Katherine C. Lawlor Obituary
Katherine C. (Zompanti) Kay Lawlor, of Marshfield, passed away on July 28, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Lawlor. Loving mother of Thomas A. Lawlor and his wife Hien of Westwood, Timothy M. Lawlor of Plymouth, Robert B. Lawlor of Pembroke, Peter S. Lawlor and his wife Anne of Duxbury, Dennis P. Lawlor and his wife Michelle of Dayville, Conn., Michael G. Lawlor and his wife Mary of Marshfield and Kevin B. Lawlor and his wife Heidi of Elmhurst, Ill. Loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren. Dear sister of Carlo Zompanti, John Zompanti, A.J. Zompanti, Augustina (Rusty) Nobile and Marie Crea all of whom have predeceased her. Daughter of the late Arduino and Madelaine (DeVellis) Zompanti. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Kay attended the Somerville Hospital School of Nursing and was trained in the Cadet Corps of Nursing during her schooling. Kay worked for many years at Boston City Hospital, as well as in the oncology unit at Quincy City Hospital. She was also a med nurse at Bay Path of Duxbury, retiring in 1993. Kay was a former co-chair of the hospitality committee of SSRNA. She was a longtime member of St. Christines Parish as well as a member of their choir. She was a daily communicant at the 9 oclock Mass and was active in many of the parish ministries. Kay enjoyed gardening and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Visiting hours was held at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Thursday, July 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral was on Friday, August 1 from MacDonald Funeral Home at 9 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Christines Church, 1295 Main St., in Marshfield. Interment at Couch Cemetery, Union St. in Marshfield. In lieu of flowers contributions in Kays memory may be made to St. Christines Building Fund, 1295 Main St., Marshfield, MA 02050.
