Dahill, Robert - Maynard  
Robert Emerson Dahill, a long time resident of Maynard, formerly of Arlington, died Sunday April 12, 2015 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was 82 years old. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Lepere) Dahill to whom he was married 56 years. Bob was born in Arlington to Thomas and Helen (Ireland) Dahill. He was a graduate of Arlington High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably overseas with the Construction Battalion or "Seabees". Upon returning home, Bob served the commonwealth with the Massachusetts State Police. He worked for twenty years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He went on to work over twenty years as a materials manager for the Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard. Bob loved to travel with his family. They made trips all over the world including Italy, Bermuda, Paris, Greece, Turkey, England and the Cayman Islands. He enjoyed reading as well as gardening. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family. Mr. Dahill is survived by his wife Marie (Lepere) Dahill and his two children, Diane Dahill and Steven Dahill and his wife Lisa, all of Maynard. He was a loving grandfather to Clayton and Samantha. He also leaves two brothers, Thomas Dahill and his wife Eileen and Charles Dahill. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Helen Farinacci and Margaret Houlihan. Family and Friends of Bob are invited to a visiting hour on Wednesday April 15th from 8:30-9:30am in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt. 111) Acton. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am in St. Bridget's Church 1 Percival Street Maynard. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard. DeWitt, Muriel  
Muriel M. (Gray) DeWitt, age 91 and long-time resident of Maynard passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Emerson Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edgar W. DeWitt. Born in Maynard on January 9, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Charles LeRoy and Martha (Parker) Gray. Muriel graduated from Maynard High School in 1941 and soon married Edgar. They lived in Waltham before moving back to Maynard. She was a faithful member of the Maynard Methodist Church where she was a choir member for over 50 years. She was also the Sunshine Lady for 25 years sending cards to church members on all appropriate occasions and a member of the flower committee. She was also an excellent cook and could be counted on for delicious desserts for church suppers and other occasions. She was noted for her lemon lush, chocolate lush and hermit cookies. Her lemon lush recipe was featured in a national food publication Muriels earliest employment was at a blanket mill in Maynard. She worked at Raytheon for many years as a quality control supervisor in the manufacturing division. She also spent many hours caring for children. During her spare time and retirement she enjoyed flowers especially daffodils and roses and also spending time at the beach in York, Maine with her husband and brother-in-law, Stanley DeWitt. She and her husband also enjoyed spending time with their friends in the southwest of the USA. She is survived by her adopted family, Bill and Isobel Booth of Stow and their 8 children, 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and by her cousin Dorothy Hattie, her nieces, Cheryl Palmer and Lynda Watters and their children . She was predeceased by her husband Edgar W. DeWitt, her brother in law Stanley DeWitt, her cousins Myrna Palmer and Roberta Knox and her grandson Tony Muffoletto. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Muriel on Friday, April 24 from 4-7 pm in the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Jakusik, Stanley B. - Maynard  
Stanley B. Jakusik, age 93, a lifelong Maynard resident, died peacefully with family at his side on Monday, April 20, 2015. Born April 3, 1922 at home in Maynard, he was a son of the late Anufry and Helen (Bakun) Jakusik. Stanley graduated from the Maynard schools and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He served honorably on active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was employed in the construction industry until he retired to devote time to his home and family. Uncle Stanley was the beloved last patriarch of the Jakusik family which included his sisters Stella and Victoria, and brothers John and Ben. He took great pride in his 52 nieces and nephews from four generations, and he had a talent for making each one feel special. He was known for his faith, kindness and generosity, for his bountiful garden, and for be-ing a loyal fan of Jeopardy and the UConn womens basketball team. He was both simple and great, strong and gentle, steadfast and funny, a rare gem, a true gentleman who will be deeply missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited visiting hours on Thursday, April 23 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rt. 111) Acton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 24 at 9:00am in St. Bridgets Church 1 Percival Street Maynard. Burial will follow in St. Bridgets Cemetery Great Road, Maynard. Kelly, Doris  
Doris Marie (Duann) Kelly 80, formerly of Lunenburg, went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2015 from Keystone Center. Doris is pre-deceased by a son Robert and daughter Judy. She is also survived by a son James of Ashburnham, a son Richard of Dover, VT., a daughter Teresa of Fitchburg and a son Steven of Lunenburg also many grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be a Prayer Service at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. Acton, MA., Sunday, April 26 , 2015 1 P.M. | 3 P.M.
