Martha Rogovin Obituary
Martha Rogovin of Framingham, formerly of Maynard and Newton. August 22, 1960 - February 26, 2018. Loving and dedicated mother to Charlotte Elkan Wood and Audrey Rogovin Wood. Daughter of Frances (Fuzzy) Hayes Rogovin and the late Gerald A. Rogovin. Martha will be fondly remembered by her many friends and family for her sharp wit, mischievousness, candor, and sense of humor, as well as for being a voracious reader and expert baker. Wherever Martha lived or worked, she readily found kindred spirits who became life-long friends. As a teenager, Martha played viola with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and attended the Cambridge School of Weston. She went on to earn a BA and MA in Geography from Boston University. While living in Maynard, she served for several years on the school committee. After raising her family, she obtained a degree in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College and worked in recent years at the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues there and by her beloved four-footed patients. Martha is survived by her mother and daughters, as well as by her twin sister Caroline R. Grinnell of Arlington, her brothers Lawrence (Stroker) Rogovin of Arlington and Andrew S. Rogovin of Newton, and her beloved rescue dog, Jackson. Donations in her memory may be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
