Anita L. Fournier, 82, resided in Medfield from 1963 to 1991. She passed away on September 5, 2013 after a period of declining health. Anita left to join her husband and soul mate Raymond Pierre Fournier, who preceded her in death in 1999. Her constant companion Portuguese Water Dog, Roxie and her grand-dog, Morgan, both preceded her in death earlier this year. She was a loving, patient and devoted mother to her only child Margo Fournier of Arvada, CO. She leaves her daughter, cousins Jane Kerns and husband, Bruce and children of Maine and David Chadbourne, wife Patricia Chadbourne and children of Massachusetts. Anita was born on August 25, 1931 in Biddeford, ME, the only child of the late Yvonne and Henry Pelletier. She spent much of her youth at her Aunt Jeannette and Uncle Andrew Chadbournes home, caring for their son Willard. An avid outdoors-woman, she learned to hunt with her Uncle and Cousin. An accomplished athlete and skier, she was one of the first women to earn Professional Ski Instructor credentialing in both the United States and Canada. She learned to golf and play bridge later in her life. Her tenacious spirit let her accomplish anything she set her mind to, paving the way for her daughter to become a successful business woman and professional athlete. After her husbands retirement, the couple moved from Medfield, MA in 1991 to being full-time residents Cape Cod. They spent winters in Summit County, skiing in the Rocky Mountains, after their daughter relocated in 1990. In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated and will rest by her husband at the Bourne National Cemetery in MA. Burial will be private. Services will take place in Maine and Colorado.
