Obituary Condolences

Diane Lamb-Wanucha, a life-long Medfield resident, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 after living for 3 years with a brain disease called frontotemporal lobe degeneration. She was 59. Until 2008, she taught art at Westwood High School. She will be remembered as a kind, warm, and welcoming person, dedicated mother, valued art teacher, and talented artist. After graduating from Medfield High School and then Mass College of Art in 1974, she created unique pottery sculptures, dishes, and eclectic jewellery. In the 1990s, she taught ceramics to children at the Medfield Pfaff Center, providing many young Medfielders the chance to be creative. She would twice bake their clay creations in the kiln of her own cellar. Diane was a 10-year breast cancer survivor. She left indelible impressions in the minds of those she met, particularly those she leaves behind: her daughters Francesca, 23, and Genevieve Wanucha, 26, husband Stanley Wanucha, mother Lois Lamb, brother Greg Lamb, sister Christine Lamb Toubeau, and nieces Brooke and Lauren Toubeau and Danielle and Jessica Lamb. An informal open-house memorial was held at 396 Main St., Medfield on Tuesday October 25 from 3-6pm for close acquaintances and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support Dr. Dickerson's Alzheimer's and Other Dementias Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital http://www.mghgifts.org/. Checks can be sent to: MGH Development Office, 165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114. Donations may also be made online at . In comment line, write: Direct the donation to Dr. Dickerson's Alzheimer's and Dementia Research Fund. Arrangements by Christine Lamb Toubeau, Stanley Wanucha, and Francesca and Genevieve Wanucha.
