Nancy E. Wheaton Obituary
Nancy Ellen Wheaton, age 81, passed away October 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family in the town of Stratford, NJ. Nancy was predeceased by her loving parents Frank and Mary Wheaton (nee McCormack) and devoted brother-in- law Richard Demaris Sr. Nancy is survived by her beloved sister Helen Demaris (nee Wheaton). Nancy was surrounded in life and in death by her nephew, Richard Demaris Jr., and nieces, Catherine Fredericks (nee Demaris) and her husband Thomas N. Fredericks III, Laura Demaris and her beloved Joseph McEwing, and Nancy Demaris and loving companion Michael Lignelle. Nancy was blessed with great -nieces and nephews: Christine, Laura, Nicholas, Matthew, Emily, Julia and Anna who lovingly referred to Nancy as their Aunt Aunt. Nancy was a strong believer in the value of education. She graduated from Forsythe School of Dental HygieneClass of 1956. She went on to practice her profession in the office of Dr. John Meade in West Medford for many years. Nancy then had the desire to educate and train others in her vocation. To that end, she went on to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in 1978, all while working full time. Nancy was a Boston Vocational and a Boston Public School teacher until her retirement. While Nancy resided in Stratford, NJ during the last two years of her life, her true home was Medford, MA and she was forever loyal to her birthplace. Nancy enjoyed the Red Sox, the Patriots, a clam basket, the Boston Pops and the Esplanade on the 4th of July, the Swan Boats, a sale at Filenes, hand dipped ice cream and hot fudge sauce from Brighams, a pizza from the Highland, a summer breeze on her front porch glider, and summer afternoons spent with family and friends at Canobie Lake Park, Revere Beach and Nahant. Nancy shared all of these simple yet memorable pleasures with her family and they became woven into the fabric of our family. She taught us grace, dignity and how to always be BOSTON STRONG. Funeral Services were held Oct. 17th under the direction of the Ora L. Wooster Funeral Home, Clementon, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053. Share memories at OraL WoosterFuneralHome.com.
