Helen Fowlie

Helen D. Fowlie, age 95, a long time resident of Melrose, died at the Tuell Nursing Home on May 1, 2012. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Fowlie. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Edna Mae (Simpson) Colby. Helen was a graduate of Canton High School and later attended Emerson College. She lived in Melrose nearly all her adult life, where she was a devoted homemaker for her husband and five children. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Melrose and she was active in the United Methodist Womens Club. She is survived by her sons Charles Fowlie and Stephen Fowlie of Maine, Roy Fowlie and his wife Katherine of Stoneham and James Fowlie of Melrose; her daughter Helen Jean Brigance and her husband Richard of Maine; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Edna M. Larson and James A. Colby. A private burial service was held in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home 781-438-0135
