George "Heu" Heulings Sherrerd, 85 of Falmouth and Andover, Massachusetts, passed away, Wednesday, July 18, 2012 after a brief illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, July 23rd at the First Congregational Church of Falmouth, 68 Main Street, Falmouth, Massachusetts. Heu's friends are invited to join the family following the service at the Woods Hole Golf Club, 130 Quissett Avenue, Falmouth, Massachusetts. Memorial contributions may be made to Kimball Union Academy, Alumni Development Office, P.O. Box 188, Meriden, NH, 03770. Heu was born July 14, 1927 in Haddonfield, New Jersey to George and Elizabeth (Rusk) Sherrerd. He graduated from Kimball Union Academy in 1945 and from Boston University in 1951. He served in the Navy during World War II. On May 23, 1953 he married Dorothy Rice Moxon. Heu had a long and successful career in purchasing and logistics with Oxford Paper Company and Kendall Health Care Products. He was an avid boater and gardener. He was accomplished at tennis and all racquet sports and was a long-time member of the Woods Hole Golf Club where until recently, he was a regular player in the senior-seniors golf group. Heu's favorite activity was sitting on the deck at his summer cottage in Pocasset spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Dorothy, in 2005. Heu is survived by his son, Alan Sherrerd and his wife Patricia of Seekonk, MA, his daughter Margaret Ake and her husband Mark of Topsfield, MA and his daughter Judy Quenzel and her husband Keith of Boxford, MA. He also leaves seven grandchildren: David, Timothy, Michael, Brian, Kristen, Jeffrey, and Emily and his dear friend and companion, Virginia Westbom.
