Melba J. (Holloway) Scotten, 89, of Bellingham died Sat. Sept. 1, 2012 in the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. She was the wife of Jack 0. Scotten. Mrs. Scotten was a professional musician in California in her early years. She later became employed as an auditor for the Bechtel Corp. in San Francisco, CA until her retirement in 1966. After moving to MA in 1969, Melba earned her real estate license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and worked in Wellesley. Mrs. Scotten was born March 3, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA the daughter of the late Warren and Sadie V. (Bowen) Holloway and was a graduate of Los Angeles High School, Class of 1940. Melba and her husband of 57 years have lived in San Francisco, Denver, Wellesley and Natick before moving to Bellingham in 1977. Melba was a devoted wife and mother and loved to share her music with everyone. In addition to her husband, Jack, she is survived by a granddaughter, Noelle Alcorn of Denver, CO., two great grandchildren, Noah Alcorn of Denver, CO. and Tiffany Grahl of Red Cloud, NE and one great great grandson, Braden L. Grahl of Red Cloud, NE. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra L. Murphy who died in 2011 and a granddaughter, Deborah D. Dufrane who died in 2012.
