Becky Drury Obituary
Becky Fuller Drury, 57 of Needham, MA, beloved wife of John Michael Drury, died Monday, November 28, 2011, after a courageous two and a half year battle against cancer. Becky was born in Boston, MA on December 23, 1953 to Harrison and Jean Fuller. Sweet Becky always wore a smile on her face and remained positive even in the most challenging situations. Her strength, courage, faith in God, and love for family have been the foundation throughout her life. Becky will be remembered for her love of children, teaching, arts & crafts, and spending time at the beach. Becky grew up in Needham, MA and attended Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, MO. She then transferred to the Clark School for the Deaf in Northampton, MA and graduated from Needham High School in 1976. Their son Michael was born in 1982 followed by their daughter Anne in 1986. The New England Outdoor Club (NEOC) was a large part of their family life. As a family they enjoyed camping, summer days at the beach, playing games (especially scrabble & rummy), and gathering with other NEOC families. Becky truly loved her job at Horace Mann School for the Deaf where she worked for the past 17 years. Becky spent her time teaching multi-service students arts & crafts, cooking and life skills. Becky also taught beginner level ASL classes at Grace Chapel in Lexington and Allied Rehabilitation Assoc. in Waltham. Always keeping busy, Becky spent her summers as a counselor for Camp Joy in Boston where she arranged a variety of activities and adventures for the campers. Summer was Beckys favorite season. She enjoyed family vacations at Ebb-Cove in Maine, taking trips to the beach, swimming at Rosemary pool, and relaxing with friends. Beckys true passion was capturing all of her favorite moments on camera and sharing her scrapbooks and stories with family and friends. Becky is survived by her husband, John; son Michael Drury & wife Kristen & beloved grandson Shamus; daughter Anne Drury & boyfriend Dan Marscher; sister Gail Kimball & husband Wally; brother Paul Fuller & wife Sandy; brother Steve Fuller & wife Liz; nieces Rebecca Dellegrazio, Katie Drury, Jamie Smith, Jennifer Phillips, Audra Phillips, Ruth Fuller, & Grace Drury; nephews, JJ Fuller, Josh Fuller, Daniel Fuller, Mathew Fuller, Samuel Fuller, & Nicholas Drury.
