Norman Homsy longtime Needham resident, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2012. Mr. Homsy moved to Needham in 1956, following his marriage to his wife Sondra. Mr. Homsy was an active member of the planning board in Needham for over 40 years, and was the Chairman for several of those years. Norman had the distinct honor of having a street named after him in his beloved Needham, Homsy Lane. Mr. Homsy was an architect, and worked on many private and commercial projects in Needham. Mr. Homsy was instrumental in keeping Needham preserved for many years. Norman was a graduate of Northeastern University, and Harvard Graduate School. Mr. Homsy was a WWII Army Veteran. He was also a member for many years of the Woodland Golf Club in Auburndale. For anyone who knew Norman, his smile and encouraging personality would always embrace you. Thank You Norman for all that you have done for us. We will all miss you very much. Beloved husband of the late Sondra G. Homsy; loving father of Kristen H. Wyatt of Framingham and Charis Edwards of New Bedford; cherished grandfather of Kyle, Shawn and Cathryn Wyatt, and Braeland and Chandra Edwards. He was also the brother of Mary Deeb and her husband Alex of Norwood, and Charles Homsy and his wife Ann of Colorado. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 29th from 3-7pm at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood. Funeral service and interment are private.
