Alvan H. Bullard, Jr., passed away on June 3, 2013 at Amesbury Village Nursing Home. Born on March 4, 1927 to Alvan H. Bullard and Florence Denison Bullard, he grew up on Washington Ave. in Needham, the oldest of four children. Alvan received an engineering degree from Northeastern University and served in the Navy. After the service, he went to work for the Foxboro Instrument Company in Foxboro. Special moments growing up included time spent at the Bullard Farm in Holliston, where he and his siblings and cousins enjoyed all that a country farm provided: blueberry picking, tree climbing, picnics, and more. The Bullard Farm held a very special place in Alvans heart, and it is where a memorial service for him will be held at a later date. Alvan was predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert and is survived by his sisters Joanna and Ann, eight nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews. Contributions in Alvans name can be made to the Bullard Memorial Farm Association, c/o Phil Audier, Treasurer, 275 Haverhill Street, No. Reading, MA 01864.
