George Leader, 83, released his mortal coil July 30, 2014. He took the advice of Dylan Thomas and raged raged raged against the light. George was a scoundrel, teller of long stories, a salesman, an investor, and in his time, an outdoorsmen. He lived his life fully and on his own terms, at different times of his life he could be found in Wakefield, NH; Hull, MA; Vero Beach, FL; Spain, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, and any local flea market that caught his eye. He leaves his wife and enabler of 62 years, Hannah. Two sons, Jack and his wife Judith Haber, Roy and his wife Sue. 4 Grandchildren Teddy, Patrick, Nick and his wife Courtney and Emma. George was a Navy Veteran serving on the USS Johnny Hutchins, protecting the East Coast from communist invasion during the Korean Conflict. He thanks the VA for his free hearing aids and the electric scooter. He had a successful 24 year career selling life insurance, from which he was able to retire in 1979. He enjoyed retirement for the past 35 years thanks to real estate investments made early and the stock market, guided by Warren Buffet and Bruce Berkowitz. An evening of drinking and Chinese Food will be held on Sept 11, from 6:30 to 9:30 at Post 440, California St, Newton, to celebrate his life. No flowers of any kind.
