Obituary Condolences

Masterman, Marilyn M. (Steinhilber) of Evans Park, at Newton Corner, 430 Centre Street, Newton died on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at St. Elizabeths Medical Center in Brighton from complications of COPD. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by, and , quite literally, in the loving embrace of, her children and grandchildren. She was 82. The youngest of four children, she was born in Worcester to Richard R. and Viola (Logan) Steinhilber and attended Commerce High School in Worcester. She was predeceased by her siblings, Richard and James Steinhilber, Florence (Steinhilber) Lynch. She leaves her three children, Craig Masterman and his wife, Marjory of Paxton, Merri (Masterman, Armstrong) Trifiro and her husband Mark of Orlando, FL and Barry Masterman and his wife Lynn of Newton; 9 grandchildren Ann Masterman of Miami, FL, Rachel Masterman of Raleigh, NC, Andrew Masterman of Gilroy, CA, Walter (Buddy) Armstrong of Sanford, FL, Noel Armstrong and her partner Neville Ross of Gloucester, Josiah Armstrong and his wife Crystal of Haverhill, Savannah Armstrong, world traveler and citizen, Alison Masterman and Ellis Masterman both of Newton. 3 Great grandchildren Harbor Lei Ross, Navio Sequoia Ross, and Jubilee Justice Armstrong as well as her former husband of 26 years, Gary G Masterman of Port Charlotte, FL and several nieces and nephews. Over the years she worked as a retail drug store buyer, in the cable TV industry, specialty food sales, and as an office manager and assistant for several businesses. Her last job was as recent as two years ago working as a receptionist for Benchmark Senior Living at Evans Park in Newton where she had been living when she died. Marilyn/Mom/Nana/Auntie May will always be best remembered by family, friends and even her childrens friends, as the personification of a warm and loving heart. All who knew here were inevitably touched by her inherent goodness, sincerity and love. Her family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the management and Staff of Cabot Park Village in Newton, where she had made her home for 17 years beginning in 1996, and to the management and staff at Evans Park at Newton Corner, where she had lived since May of this year. We would especially like to recognize and thank the nurses and doctors in both the ER and RICU at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton for their professional and compassionate care and counsel in the last days of her life.
