Mary Rose Colantropo, of Auburndale, passed away peacefully Saturday evening September 7th, 2013 in Traditions of Wayland at the age of 88. Born on January 9, 1925 in Waltham; daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Manero) Casella; Mary was raised and educated in Waltham, she lived most of her life in the Auburndale section of Newton before moving to Wayland 3 years ago. A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1942. Mary was a devoted & loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family throughout her life. Her central focus in life was her family, she was always giving of herself and putting others first. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, especially her famous pizzellis, picking blueberries, trips to Maine, walks on Marginal Way, and volunteering at Sacred Heart Church in Waltham. She was the beloved wife of the late Enrico J. Harry Colantropo. She is survived by her loving & devoted children David Colantropo and his wife Cindy of Wayland, Gloria Todesco of Roslindale, Judy DeMeo and her husband Anthony of Stow, Bonnie Beaudet and her husband Stephen of Littleton, and Betty Brault and her husband Thomas of Upton, her dear siblings James Casella and his wife Sandy, Jeanette Rheaume and her husband the late Alphonse, and Robert Casella and his wife Thelma all of Waltham, and her sister-in-law Mary Casella of Lexington. In addition she is survived by 10 cherished grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Frankie DeMeo and sister of the late Carmella Casella and Salvatore Casella. Mary was lovingly cared for by her family and many devoted and wonderful caregivers at Reflections Memory Care Neighborhood at Traditions of Wayland who allowed her to live her life surrounded by tenderness and affection. Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Wednesday morning Sept. 11th at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Marys Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday Sept. 10th from 4 | 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
