Obituary Condolences

Mary A. Clossey Of Auburndale, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday afternoon July 12, 2010, at the Kindred Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Natick. She was 74. Born in Waltham on Oct. 2, 1935, daughter of the late Walter and Bernice (Turner) Purdy, Mary was a resident of Waltham for many years before moving to the Auburndale section of Newton 47 years ago. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend too many, Mary was passionate about politics and civic involvement. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, arts & crafts. Beloved wife of the late Russell Ray Clossey. She is survived by her loving children Brenda L. Clossey of Framingham, Sean R. Clossey of Newton, Melissa A. Clossey of Waltham, Marc C. Sturtevant of Florida and Lisa K. Sturtevant of New Hampshire, her dear siblings Beverly Chiasson of Waltham, David Purdy of Quincy, and Donna Martin of Rhode Island. In addition she is survived by nine cherished grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mother of the late Philip J. Clossey and Scott G. Sturtevant, sister of the late Ruth Ayvazian and Marilyn Harper. A Graveside Funeral Service in celebration of Marys Life was held at Grove Hill Cemetery, 300 Main Street (Rte.#20), Waltham on Friday morning July 16 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Marys memory to the , P.O. 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Pl., Brookline, MA 02445.
