Harry Harlow Shepard, 81, a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Marlborough Hills Health Care Center, Marlborough. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Claire (Brodeur) Shepard and three daughters, Patricia Carolan and her husband Michael of Holden, Sally Sullivan and her husband Kevin of Plymouth, and Nancy Sacco and her husband Louis of Southborough. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Thomas and Stephen Wight, Jack and Anna Carolan, and Carolyn, Laura, and Julianne Sacco. He is survived by his sister Margaret Benson of Florida; many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by three sisters, Abbie Larson, Beverly Fisher, and Beth Simmler. He was born in Worcester, son of Harlow A. and Edythe E. (Russell) Shepard. Harry retired as general foreman for the Shrewsbury Light Department after 36 years of service. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 10 years. Harry was also a member of the Matthew John Whittall Lodge of Masons for 59 years, and a member of the Retired Mens Club of Greendale. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, at the First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., Shrewsbury. Burial followed in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
