Nancy C. Buzzell, 66, of North Hampton and Walterboro, SC, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at her North Hampton home after a recent diagnosis of large cell lymphoma with her family at her side. She was born in Boston, Mass., November 25, 1946 the daughter of Robert E. and Gladys C. (Foster) Stokinger of Portland, Me. She graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Mass. and attended Dean Junior College in Franklin, Mass. In her earlier years she worked for Continental Cablevision and throughout the 1980's as a beloved bus driver in the Portsmouth school district for Timberlane Transportation. Nancy's greatest joy, were her grandchildren. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, the Ladies Union, and the North Hampton Woman's Club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramics, swimming and was a longtime volunteer for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and one of those years was named volunteer of the year. In addition to her parents, family members include her husband of 47 years, Harold E. Buzzell of North Hampton and Walterboro SC, two daughters, Heidi A. Hirtle of North Hampton, Carolyn B. Dalton and husband Brent of Walterboro, four grandchildren, Erik Hirtle, Kayleigh Smith, Victoria and Cody Dalton, three brothers, Robert F. Stokinger and wife Mary Duffy of Salviac, France, John L. Stokinger and wife Diane of Kreamer, Pa., Peter A. Stokinger and wife Kris of Palmer, AK, a special aunt, Barbara (Stokinger) Tatro of Ft. Myers, Fla., several nieces and nephews. The family acknowledges sharing her with so many others as their special surrogate "Mom". A friendship hour was held from 12 Noon to 1 P.M. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services were immediately followed at 1 P.M. in the funeral home with burial in the Center Cemetery, North Hampton. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited.
