Vera Vasialka Obituary
Vera (Valaitis) Vasialka, 82, of Norton since 2005, formerly of Brockton, died May 21, 2013. Born and raised in France, she came to the U.S. in 1954 and settled in The Village in Brockton. She was retired from food service at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brockton and enjoyed walking, cooking and sewing. Vera was a hard-working woman all her life. Her family was very important to her as she always put them first. She was a proud Lithuanian. She was fiercely independent and instilled the same independence in her family. Vera had a witty sense of humor that made an impression on everyone she met. Vera leaves a hole in the heart amongst those who loved her and she will forever be missed. Vera was the wife of the late Edward Vasialka; beloved mother of Giselle Vasialka (and Kathy Donaldson) of Norton, Veronica Vasialka of Attleboro, Patricia Lafrance of Georgia and Francine Fisher (and her husband Howard) of Norton; loving grandmother of Phillip Vasialka (and his wife Sherine), Adam Fisher and Kevin Fisher; great-grandmother of Genevieve Vasialka. Calling hours were held Saturday, May 25, 9-10:30 a.m. and a 10:30 a.m. prayer service in Belcher Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, and burial at Melrose Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Lithuanians Childrens Relief, Inc., 261 Thatcher St., Brockton, MA 02302. Visit www.waittfuneralhome.com or call 508-583-7272.
