In 1962, Denise and her family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met her husband, John, in 1963, and graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School with the class of 1966. She married John on June 22, 1968 and they moved to Wichita, Kansas. Two years later, in 1970, Denise gave birth to her twins, Amy and Chris, and in 1971, Denise and John moved their young family to Warren, Michigan. Denise was a long time member of the Norwood, Massachusetts Historical Society and enjoyed interior decorating and design, yoga, as well as traveling with John.
