Caroline Tucker

November 15, 1928 | January 3, 2013, long-time Harwichport resident, Caroline Tucker, 84, passed away in Acton, Massachusetts on January 3, 2013. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and true friend to many. Carol was married for 60 years to the late William H. Tucker, US Army Veteran of WWII and former Chairman of the Interstate Commerce Commission under President John F. Kennedy. Carol and Bill met in Roslindale, enjoyed early years together in Athol where Bill first practiced law in the 50s, and spent the 60s in Washington D.C. Before returning to Massachusetts. Carol and Bill lived on Neel Road for 43 years from 1966 to 2009, at first for summers and then fulltime. They both loved golf and were members of the Eastward Ho Country Club for many years. Caring for her home brought Carol great pleasure and she enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, oil painting and crafts. Her daily life for the last sixteen years also included her loyal companion, Noel, who passed away last summer, and in previous years, her other dear poodles, Shawna and Mimi. Carol is survived by daughters Karen Barisano of Littleton, Sandy Duggan of Chicago, and granddaughters Kelley Duggan, Kimberly Duggan and Nicole Horst. A memorial service will be held in early summer for her friends on the Cape to join in remembering Carols life. Arrangements under the care of Concord Funeral Home, Concord, MA.
