Fred A. Schouler, 73, of Eastham, passed away early on June 10, 2013. He was the husband of Phyllis J. (DeJong) Schouler to whom he was married 47 years. He was born on August 12, 1939 in Framingham, MA. Fred had just received his 50 year pin from the Local 475 Carpenters Union to which he belonged. He was a longtime resident of Ashland, MA and retired to Eastham in 1998 to live his lifelong dream of fishing, boating, clamming, lobstering, and vegetable gardening. He enjoyed having his pets around and will be greatly missed by his greyhound Bailey. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin Schouler and his wife Kim of Hyannis, MA; two adoring grandsons, Greg and Brent Schouler; two sisters, Marie Casey and Patty Traegde and her husband Bruce, plus many loyal friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Freds name to: CASAS: Carrie A. Seaman Animal Shelter, 5 Sandy Hill Lane (P.O. Box 1374), Provincetown, MA 02657. Visiting hours were held from 3pm-5pm on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. A funeral service was held at 11am on Monday, June 17 in the Nickerson Funeral Home. A burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
