William Bill H. Burton, 84, of Pembroke, passed away Nov. 16, 2013. Born in Medford, March 6, 1929, he was the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth Emma (Wills) Burton. Raised and educated in Medford, he later graduated from Boston University and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was an active member of St. Thecla Church in Pembroke and the Pembroke community. Bill was an artist, water and snow skiing, fishing, boating, and sports, especially football. Bill was loving, caring, compassionate, generous, and truly loved his family and friends. Bill was the devoted husband of Sara Sally C. (Sarsfield) Burton; brother of the late Mary Alice Stub and her husband Andrew, and Lois Kathryn Burton. Survived by loving nieces, Karen and her husband Ronald Oriola of Canton, Andrea E. Cash of Stafford, Va., Roberta and her husband Richard Hickey of Rockland, and Marilyn and her husband John Finn of Marstons Mills, and the late Andrew W. Stub. Bill is also survived by great-nieces and nephews. Visiting hours were held in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St., Rte. 53, in Hanover, Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thecla Church, 145 Washington St., Rte. 53, in Pembroke, Thursday at 9 a.m. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
