Edgar Way Obituary

Edgar G. Way, age 87, of Pembroke, died on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth. Born in Bridgeport, CT on July 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Clarence E. & Helen M. (Rasmussen) Way. Edgar was a Naval veteran of World War II, graduated from the University of Bridgeport Engineering School and attended Yale Engineering Graduate School as a faculty sponsored student. He retired after many years at Sigma Instruments due to a heart attack, and resided for many years in Pembroke. Edgar was the beloved husband of the late Stephanie B. (Juska) Way; loving father of Karen Snowdon-Way & her husband Bryan of NC and Kristine Whelan & her husband Jeffrey of NC and the late Scott Way; loving grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of eight and dear brother of the late Richard Way. He is also survived by Stephanie's children, Alan Leishman & his fiance Leslie Brasslow of East Bridgewater and their family, Robert Leishman & his wife Diane of Rockland and their family, Marc Leishman & his wife Lynne of Old Westport and their family and Christine Hoerr & her husband David of Pembroke and their family. Edgar is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the memorial visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Monday, June 15, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at the Center Cemetery, Oldham Street, Pembroke, on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 10:00 AM, where Edgar will be buried with his beloved wife, Stephanie. Grampa, we will always remember the fun times we had as small children at your house. You always had projects for us to do. We still have the little cabin made out of sticks, leaves and string. Sadly missed and much loved.
