Milton E. Cobb

Milton E. Cobb, 86, of Plymouth, formerly of Norwell, died April 24, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Cyrus and Jessie (Colby) Cobb. He was raised and educated in Brockton, graduating from Brockton High School and the Brockton Business College. Mr. Cobb was a proud Navy veteran serving during World War II. Milton had been a clerk at the Brockton Post Office for 35 years and he also worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Centers in Boston, Brockton and New Seabury. Active in fraternal organizations, he was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Plymouth Council and was a Fourth Degree Knight. He also was a member of the Plymouth Masonic Lodge and was a lifetime member of the St. Augustine Post of the VFW. He loved boating, motorcycling, golfing, cribbage and spending the winter in Florida. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janette (Umbrianna) Cobb. He was the brother-in-law of Mary Montgomery of Hanover and Angelo J. Umbrianna of Whitman and Delano, Fla. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews including but not limited to, Paul J. Westberg Sr. of Plymouth, Suzanne Westberg of Abington and Brenda Gervais of Warsaw, Ind. Milton was predeceased by John and Grace Arthur, Nora Westberg, John and Elsie (Anderson) Umbrianna, Laura (Arthur) Hill and Ralph E. Colby. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 29, 2013, at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
