Ruth C. Casey

Ruth C. (Moore) Casey, 90, of Plymouth, formerly of Concord, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy. She was the beloved wife of 53 years of the late Robert J. Casey who died in 1998. Born in Boston on January 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henry L. and Catherine (Thomson) Moore. She attended Boston public schools and graduated from Dorchester School for Girls in 1940. During World War II, she worked as a Burner at South Boston Annex-Navy Yard. For many years, prior to her retirement, Mrs. Casey worked as a waitress at the Colonial Inn in Concord. She was a twenty-six year resident of Concord before moving to Plymouth in 1979. She was a life member of the Plymouth V. F. W. Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Maureen Casey of Maynard, Kathleen Green of Plymouth, Robert Casey and his wife Nettie of Peabody, Stephen Casey of Maryland, Paul Casey of Maynard, Michael Casey of Plymouth, her grandchildren, Jennifer Reynolds and her husband Keith of Danvers and Shannon Green of Plymouth, her great grandchildren, Ryan and Owen Reynolds of Danvers, her sisters, Lorraine Adams, Geraldine Ray and Donna Marston, all of Quincy and Marilyn McGourty of Braintree. She was also the mother of the late Dennis Casey, grandmother of the late Andrea Green and sister of the late Henry Moore. Funeral was held on Friday, April 5th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 11 AM followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 12 Noon. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home were held on Thursday, April 4th from 4 to 7 PM. Burial was in St. Bernards Cemetery, Concord.
