Beverly A. (Carton) Dietlin, age 81, died at her home Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph C. Dietlin who predeceased her in 1995. Mrs. Dietlin was born in Attleboro, July 24, 1932, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Worcester) Carton. She was educated in Plymouth and was a graduate of Plymouth High School. She went on to further her education by attending Northeastern University, majoring in Chemistry and Science. A lifelong Plymouth resident, Mrs. Dietlin had worked in her youth for the Plymouth Cordage Company and in the early 1970s she had worked as a hostess for the original Berts Restaurant in Plymouth. Her hobbies included spending time at the beach, walks along the waterfront with her lifelong friend Kathy Delano, and tending to her flower gardens. Beverly was the loving mother of John Dietlin of Freetown, Kurt Dietlin and his wife Christine of Plymouth, Kathleen Gillespie and her husband William of Brockton and Joyce Dietlin of Plymouth. She was the beloved sister of Joan Heath of Plymouth and the late John Carton Jr. She also leaves 2 grandsons, Stephen Watts and Patrick Gillespie; and 1 great-grandson, Konnor Mello. A private visitation will be held at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, Friday, April 4, 2014, from 12 to 1 p.m. followed by a private funeral service in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Cremation took place in Vine Hills Crematory. Private interment will follow the memorial service in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
