George E. Ball Obituary
George E. Ball, 87, of Naples, Florida formerly of Plymouth, died on August 21, 2018. Mr. Ball is survived by two sons, Gregory of Boston and Michael of Buzzards Bay, and granddaughters, Jeanette Pellechia of Hanover, and Christina Ball of Buzzards Bay. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Pope Ball and his daughter, Helen Homan. Prior to his retirement in 1994, Mr. Ball was a trust officer at Citizens Trust Company in Providence, R.I. Before joining Citizens in 1975, he had been engaged in trust and estate administration with the Boston law firm of Goodwin, Procter and Hoar. In his earlier years, he served in various accounting capacities with Polaroid Corp., Plymouth Cordage Co., and United States Smelting Refining and Mining Co. He was a graduate of Rockland High School, Burdett College and graduated with honors from Northeastern University. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion. He was also a former member of Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society at Northeastern University and Countryside Golf and Country Club in Naples. A period of visitation will take place on Sunday, August 26, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Davis Funeral and Cremation Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth. The funeral will take place on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 9:00 am from the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bonaventuress Church, 801 State Rd., Plymouth (Manomet).
