Marion L. Cormier Obituary
Long time Marlborough resident, Marion Louise. (Brigham) Cormier dies at age 98, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont NH. She was born November 30, 1919 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Her parents were Harold L. Brigham, Superintendent of the Water Works Department in Marlborough Massachusetts and Alice G (Dwyer) Brigham, both of Marlborough MA. Marion graduated Marlborough High School Class of 1937 and Framingham State College Class of 1941. She married the late Carlton F. Cormier (died December 6, 1998) of Marlborough Massachusetts in 1950 and moved to Brockton MA. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for over 40 years in various schools in central Massachusetts. They enjoyed travel and visited France and Italy along with many other places of interest. Upon retirement, Marion and her husband summered in Manomet, MA and wintered in Florida for many years. She was a member of the General Badger Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Marion was a very active member of St. Bonaventure Parish in Plymouth/Manomet Massachusetts during her time there. She volunteered at the Catholic Charities Thrift Shop in Plymouth MA. She is predeceased by her sisters Anne (Brigham) McCourt and Elsie (Brigham) (Grogan) Dineen. She is survived by a sister Lucille (Brigham) Keane of Exeter NH, Nephews John Grogan of Marlborough MA, Stephen McCourt and his Wife Beverlee of Kingston MA, Thomas Keane and his wife Ida of Fremont NH, Michael Keane and his wife Nancy of Stratham NH, Nieces Martha (McCourt) Gallagher of Maryland, Mary Ellen Grogan of Boston MA, and Margaret Grogan and her husband Mark Bierbower of Harvard MA and several great nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10 AM the John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Marlborough MA 01752. Calling hours will be prior to services from 9AM-10AM. Burial will take place immediately following services at the St. Marys Cemetery in Marlborough MA. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in Marions name to the Cure Alzheimers Fund 34 Washington Street, Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 or online at www.curealz.org.
