Nicholas Mazzilli Obituary
Nicholas Mazzilli woke up this morning, made coffee, had a few business meetings on the phone, decided to start up his green and yellow John Deere tractor, he used to plow his fifty acre farm for the past six decades, until he realized, Im 90 years old, strapped to an oxygen machine, it might be a good time to retire. It is with great sorrow and regret that the Mazzilli family announces the passing of their family patriarch from C.O.P.D. on September 7, 2018. Nicks story began in August of 1928 as he grew up in an immigrant Italian family in Jersey City, New Jersey. Nick took on the role of caregiver, learned how to accept reasonability, and care for his family as an adolescent. He learned very quickly the value of a dollar and how to double it. In 1949 Nicholas Mazzilli began his legacy by meeting and marrying his wife Angelina. Together they raised 5 children: Nicholas, Steven, Diane, Kenney, and MaryAnne. The family relocated to Massachusetts in 1959, where they built a Deli in Middleborough and later in the 1970s moved the location to Wareham, where it still is in operation today. Nicholas has been a member of: The National Guard, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Club, and Rotary Club. He has also given many Philanthropic contributions to underprivileged youth in surrounding communities. He was a farmer, a butcher, a soprano, a comedian, lover, fighter for good causes, Family Man and Saint. He will be missed by all those who had the fortunate moments to cross his path. The wake for Nicholas Mazzilli will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 10 am, followed by a funeral procession to St. Marys Cemetery, Middleboro. Nevermind tomorrow, its a beautiful day today.
