I will always be grateful to Mrs. Briggs for her oversight and support of my son Nicholas at Brooks School in Concord. It was a difficult time for our family and she helped to put him on a strong educational path that led him to Fenn, Middlesex and Middlebury.

On behalf of the Class of 1951, may I express my condolences to Delia's family. We remember the kindness, care, and support that she gave us as we went through the trials and tribulations as students at Middlesex in the 1940's and early '50's.

More than fifty years have passed since I left Middlesex but I was still very moved by this news. I remember Mrs. Briggs very well. Memories of the entire family, small kids and all, come to mind from a year in LB. They exemplify the best of the school.

I don't know how she did it - but Mrs. Briggs not only knew all the boys' names but was particularly kind to them, especially the young and small ones.
I was both - and will always remember her many kindnesses to us all.

More than 50 years has passed since I last saw Mr. & Mrs. Briggs. Yet I will never forget their warmth and intelligence. During my years at Middlesex they filled the void of parental caring I felt from boarding far from home.

I lived in LB during my Junior Year and used the Briggs's telephone to call home every Sunday after Chapel. I was a great admirer of Mr. and Mrs. Briggs. Charles Harding, '56.

Mrs Briggs was a voice of strong support and vitality in the Middlesex Community. As a graduate of the class of 1971, I will remember her warm, outgoing personality as well as her ability to match wits with her husband, John. My condolences to the Briggs family, sincerely, Terry Phinney

Bunny and John,
The memories of your parents are among the highlights of my life. I loved and respected each of them more than I can say. I remember well the arrival of the first Briggs baby during wartime Middlesex. Bridge with your parents kept dirty little boys out of trouble. We graduates who claim we can write owe an inestimable debt to your father, who was one of the all-time great teachers and great men.
I remember fondly your dad's visits when we lived in Cleveland and had the usual bridge game together.
The picture of your father depending strongly on his loving Delia as he descended into altzheimers is dear and enduring. She and he were a great team and this alum from Peabody House will love them to his own grave.
Please accept my condolences and know I deeply share your loss.

I remember Mrs. Briggs from the time I was 10 years old in Concord when I played baseball with her son, John. Years later, she taught my son, Nick, Middlesex, 88' when he was a student at Brooks School. She always took an interest in me and my family. I am thinking of her children and grandchildren as they deal with her loss.
