Paul J. Murphy, 81, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2014 at the Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center in Wareham. He was born in Newton, Mass., son of the late Peter and Marguerite (Lewis) Murphy. He was raised and educated in Newton and graduated from Newton High School, Class of 1951. Mr. Murphy enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War. He was employed as a machinist at the Foxborough Company for over 20 years before retiring to Plymouth. In his retirement, attending country-western dance jamborees, seeing the latest movies, and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren brought him much pleasure and enjoyment. He was predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Judith (Brown) Murphy, May 26, 1985. He is survived by two loving daughters; Jacqueline Quinn and her husband Lawrence of York, S.C., and Cheryl Sears and her husband Fran of Warsaw, Va. Paul was the brother of the late William Murphy, Robert Murphy, Edward Murphy and Margaret Murphy. He is also survived by four adoring grandchildren; Sarah, Shannon and Shayla Quinn of S.C., and Zachary Sears of Va. A brief memorial service and burial will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Cemetery in Plymouth.
