Mary Camara Mary Camara CARVER Mary (Costa) Camara, age 93, died peacefully at home in Carver on January 14, 2010. She was the devoted wife of the late Abel Camara and daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Salvatore) Costa. Mary was born in Cambridge, MA, educated in Cambridge at the Putnam School and moved to Kingston in 1966. She resided there until moving to Carver in 1999. She had been a caregiver her whole life, caring for her family and many veterans, to whom she opened her home. She enjoyed spending time shopping at thrift stores and Walmart, as well as spending time at the Plymouth waterfront. She was a devout Catholic, placing her faith at the heart of her soul. Mrs. Camara is survived by her loving and devoted daughter with whom she made her home; Evelyn Sinn of Carver, three sons; Robert Camara of Waltham and his wife Carol, Joseph Camara of Blackstone and his wife Dawn, and Paul Camara of Kingston and his wife Mary. She was the sister of the late Frank Costa, Joseph Costa, and Evelyn Mello. She was also survived by her dedicated former daughter-in-law Suzie Cunningham of Plymouth, her niece Tammy Rebelo of Arlington and sister-in-law Helen Costa of Cambridge. She was the cherished grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 14 and pre-deceased by one grandchild and one great-grandchild. The Funeral will take place on Saturday morning at 10:45 from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Josephs Church in Kingston at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Cartmell Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Kingston.
