Frederick J. Nava Obituary
Frederick J. Nava, 60, of Kingston, died at his home April 28. He was the son of the late Fred E. and Ellen Nava; beloved husband of Christine (Collins) Nava; loving father of Stephen Nava of Kingston; brother of Diane Bird of Plymouth and Mary Katherine Bird of Oxford; son-in-law of Curtis S. and Phyllis A. Collins of Marshfield. He was the stepfather of the late Darin J. Fantoni. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Shelley Fantoni; his step-grandson, Darin J. Fantoni; and many other family members and close friends. Fred was the owner and president of the excavation company Fred E. Nava & Son, Inc., for 40 years. He was the horseshow manager of New England Morgan Horse Show, Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show, Southern States Morgan Horse Show, Far West Morgan Horse Show, and Jubilee Morgan Horse Show. Fred was an inductee in the New England Morgan Horse Assoc. Hall of Fame and the American Morgan Horse Assoc. Hall of Fame. He was a longtime supporter of the town of Kingston. Fred was also the president of the Evergreen Cemetery Board of Directors, and a founding member of the Mass. Snow and Ice Contractors Assoc. Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Rte. 106, Kingston, Friday, May 3, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Kingston, at 10 a.m. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Kingston.
