Nancy M. Pierce

Nancy M. Pierce, 72, of Plymouth, died at home surrounded by her family on her birthday, July 18. Nancy was predeceased by her husband David, whom she married on May 29, 1965. She is survived by her mother Doris May Rowell, of Plymouth. Her sons, David Pierce and his wife Carol of Sidney, ME; Dennis Pierce and his wife Karen of Roxbury, ME; Andrew Pierce of Farmington, ME. Her daughters, Nancy Barr and her husband Robert of Orlando, FL; Lydia McLain and her husband Donald of Dixmont, ME and Sarah Merrill and her husband Lee of Peru, ME. Her sister Joan Roulias and her husband George of Plymouth and her sister-in-law Mary Nickerson of Kingston. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and her best friend Bonnie Peck. Nancy was a lifelong resident of Plymouth, graduated from Plymouth High School in 1961 and Cape Cod Nursing School in 1963 as an LPN. Nancy worked for 50+ years in home health care, various hospitals and nursing homes. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, shopping, cross stitch, collecting thimbles and Scooby Doo. She was a member of Plymouth Chapter order of the Eastern Star. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling to Maine to visit her family. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt. 3A), Plymouth (Manomet). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 24th at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Carthage, Maine. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manley St., W. Bridgewater, MA 02379.
