John Spiro, of Randolph, passed away August 13 after a brief illness. He was 89 years old. John was born in Needham and was raised and educated in Lexington. He had been a resident of Randolph for 52 years. John worked as a glassblower at Raytheon for many years. He was married to his wife Helen for 67 years and enjoyed spending time with his family. Beloved husband of Helen (Stavros) Spiro. Loving father of Thomas Spiro and his wife Nancy of Randolph, Peter Spiro and his wife Linda of Bridgewater, and Paul Spiro and his wife Jean of Abington. Devoted brother of the late William Spiro. Cherished grandfather of Laura, Thomas Jr., Andrea, Tammy, and Nicholas and great-grandfather of Ryan, Kyle, Brady, Jake, John, Evan, Henry, and William. Funeral was from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rte. 28) Randolph, Friday, Aug. 17 at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at the Holy Trinity Church, D St. South Boston at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours were Thursday, Aug. 16 from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
